About HongDe:
HongDe Elementary School is a BC Ministry of Education registered Not-For-Profit Kindergarten-Grade 7 Independent School that provides a Mandarin/English Bilingual Program. The purpose of the school is to provide an excellent education to learn about traditional Chinese and Western culture values in addition to promoting virtues, or character strengths, considered important for society.
The name HongDe in Chinese characters mean “Promoting virtue through learning traditional culture.”
HongDe Elementary School is supporting the community working families by offering 1-week free educational summer camps for students aged 5-10 (born in 2012-2017) at the Vancouver Yaletown campus on July 4-22, 2022.
Summer Camp Sessions:
Session 1: July 4-8, Mon-Fri, 9:00am-3:00pm
Session 2: July 11-15, Mon-Fri, 9:00am-3:00pm
Session 3: July 18-22, Mon-Fri, 9:00am-3:00pm
Camp Courses: Mandarin/English Bilingual, Music, Dance, Drama, Arts/Crafts, etc.
Camp Location: HongDe Elementary School, 1035 Cambie St., Vancouver, BC（No school bus service for Summer Camp Program)
Camp Size: Max. 30 – First come, first served
Camp Hours: Mon-Fri, 9:00am-3:00pm
Recess & Lunch: Campers will be supervised for 30 minutes at lunchtime, and get one hour’s recess each afternoon.
Activities: We provide various activities, including Mandarin language learning, studying Three-Character Classic（三字經）and Rules for Children（弟子規）, singing and dancing, acting, drawing, painting, clay modeling, and cooking, etc. (All activities are subject to change.)
Led by enthusiastic and experienced Vancouver school teachers and staff, our summer camps will offer exceptional levels of safety, enjoyment, and education!
Program Fees:
Camp Fee: FREE for one week registration; $300 per week if additional weeks needed
Application: $100, non-refundable
Hot Lunch (optional): $55 per week
