As we step into March, we have a lot to look forward to at HongDe Elementary! From important safety drills to celebrating achievements and holidays, this month is packed with meaningful moments for our students, teachers, and families. Take a look at what’s coming up:

📅 March 5 – Fire Drill

Safety first! Our scheduled fire drill is an important opportunity to practice emergency procedures and ensure that everyone knows what to do in case of an emergency.

💜 March 8 – International Women’s Day

We celebrate International Women’s Day by recognizing the incredible contributions of women in our community and around the world. This day is a great reminder to appreciate and empower the women who inspire us every day.

International Women’s Day in Canada

March 8 is International Women’s Day (IWD), a global day dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and girls. It is also a time to reflect on the progress made toward women’s rights and acknowledge the work still needed to ensure equal opportunities for all.

The Government of Canada’s theme for IWD 2025 is Strength in Every Story, highlighting the importance of amplifying the voices of all women, especially those who continue to face barriers. By creating opportunities for women and girls, we unlock their potential, drive innovation, strengthen the economy, and build a sustainable future for everyone.

Every woman’s story is a testament to resilience, determination, and the power of opportunity. This International Women’s Day, let’s celebrate the women and girls in our lives and share their inspiring stories.

📖 March 14 – Report Card Day

Time to reflect on all the hard work and progress made this term! Report Card Day is an opportunity to celebrate achievements and set new goals for the future. Parents, keep an eye out for your child’s report card and take a moment to acknowledge their efforts!

🍀 March 17 – St. Patrick’s Day

Get ready for some green fun! Whether it’s learning about Irish culture, engaging in themed activities, or spotting some lucky clovers, St. Patrick’s Day is always a festive time at HongDe!

🌸 March 17-28 – Spring Break!

Time for a well-deserved Spring Break! Students will have the chance to rest, recharge, and enjoy some time off. Whether you’re traveling, spending time with family, or simply relaxing, we hope everyone enjoys their break!

🏫 March 31 – School Reopens

After a refreshing Spring Break, we’ll be back and ready to jump into new learning adventures! We can’t wait to welcome everyone back on March 31 for another exciting term at HongDe!
