HongDe Elementary’s Mandarin/English Program is certified by the province of British Columbia. BC’s Curriculum is designed to engage students in their own learning and develop essential skills and competencies for today’s society. With a focus on personalized learning, the BC Curriculum promotes flexible and innovative learning opportunities, while fostering critical and creative thinking.
Integration of BC Curriculum Components
Our Mandarin/English program seamlessly embeds the components of the BC Curriculum, ensuring a comprehensive and enriching educational experience. The curriculum is structured around the following key elements:

Core Competencies
Core competencies are integral to HongDe’s bilingual program. These intellectual, social, and personal competencies support lifelong learning and are embedded in our curriculum to promote self-reflection, self-assessment, and goal setting. HongDe’s Bilingual Program
Our bilingual program divides the curriculum into subjects taught in Mandarin and English, providing a balanced and immersive learning environment.
