Police Officer Visit: Learning About Safety with the VPD
This week, HongDe Elementary welcomed a Vancouver Police Department community officer for an engaging session on safety. Students learned valuable tips on handling uncomfortable situations, using 911 responsibly, and staying safe online and on the school bus. Nutrition Workshop with Choices Market
This month, HongDe Elementary welcomed Choices Market’s nutrition team to present a workshop on healthy eating and food choices. Students explored where food comes from, learned about the food pyramid, and participated in a fun “Eat Your Rainbow” activity!
Community Officer from Vancouver PD Visits HongDe Elementary
On December 4, HongDe Elementary welcomed a community police officer from the Vancouver Police Department for an engaging and insightful visit. Our students learned about the tools and communication skills officers use to keep the community safe, fostering a better understanding of police work. As a gesture of gratitude, students presented the officer with a signed card, building positive connections with our local heroes.
Valley Christian School Choir at HongDe Elementary
HongDe Elementary had the pleasure of hosting the talented Valley Christian School choir from Mission, BC. Their performance brought joy, inspiration, and friendship to our students, creating lasting memories and fostering a love for the arts.
Christmas Cards for Veterans
Last month, HongDe Elementary students created thoughtful Christmas cards for veterans, expressing gratitude in English and Mandarin. These cards, delivered just in time for Christmas to the Royal Canadian Legion 142, bring joy and warmth to those who have served.
