At HongDe Elementary, we believe in nurturing creativity, imagination, and self-expression. That’s why it brings us incredible joy to share a milestone achievement by one of our own: Grade 6 student Zlata Prudyus, who has just published her first children’s book, Amy and the Magic Forest.

What started as a fifth-grade classroom project has blossomed into a beautifully written and illustrated book now available for readers everywhere.

From Classroom Story to Published Author

With encouragement from her teachers and the unwavering support of her family, Zlata transformed her school assignment into a fully published book by the time she entered sixth grade. Her journey is a true testament to what can happen when creativity meets dedication.

Zlata’s book, Amy and the Magic Forest, is more than a magical tale – it’s an inspiration for all young writers to dream big and keep going.

About the Book

Amy and the Magic Forest is a heartwarming story about determination, self-discovery, and the magic of friendship.

In the Magic Forest, Amy meets Freya, a lively and kind fairy who becomes her guide through this enchanting yet challenging world. Together, they face a series of tasks set by the Forest: navigating a tricky maze, dodging poisonous butterflies, and searching for elusive frogs.

As Amy journeys deeper into this magical land, she begins to reflect on her own actions and learns unforgettable lessons about kindness, responsibility, and what it means to be a true friend.
