We are excited to announce that HongDe Elementary is still accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school year! Discover the steps to enroll your child in our unique Mandarin/English Bilingual Program and Fine Arts Program, the only elementary school in Downtown Vancouver offering such a comprehensive bilingual education.
Key Dates
We accept students until September. Although the early grant is no longer available, we can admit students during the school year under certain circumstances. Please get in touch with our school admission team to learn more about these opportunities.
Eligibility
There are no specific eligibility requirements for admission to HongDe Elementary. We interview prospective students to determine their level, but no previous Mandarin language experience is required.
Application Process
- Please book an Appointment. Schedule a meeting with our admission team to determine a personalized plan for your child.
- Fill Out the Application Form. Complete the application form and include the following documents:
- Passport or Birth Certificate
- Latest year’s Report Card
- Immunization Records
- Student Interview is an informal family conversation with our Principal and Head Teacher. This is an opportunity for students and parents to ask questions and learn more about our curriculum and programs.
- Acceptance. After acceptance, students will be contacted to build their “Pathway to Success” study plan.

Tuition and Fees

- Application Fee: $200 (non-refundable)
- Tuition Fee: $16,800 for domestic students, $19,800 for international students
- Student Service Fee: $950
- School Bus Fee (Round-trip): $950
- School Uniform: Approximately $400 – $500, ordered from Cambridge Uniforms
- Medical Insurance:
- BC MSP: $75 per month for international students
- Private Insurance: Approximately $44 per month
